From a simple garlic pasta in olive oil to sandwich dressing and vinaigrette, my Cold Cut Sandwich and Pasta Seasoning is versatile in any kitchen. Formerly titled Sweet Pepper & Egg Seasoning (name changed because a lot of customers thought it was supposed to taste like sweet peppers and not be used to season sweet peppers) this seasoning also makes fantastic sweet peppers and pepper and egg sandwiches (a favorite Lenten meal in Chicagoland). Dash on cold cut sandwiches or salads. Make pasta 'pop' with flavor.
Use to make great crostini or croutons:
Half pound of bread cubed for croutons or sliced for crostini
1/3 cup olive oil
2 Tbl Cold Cut Sandwich and Pasta Seasoning
1 Tbl grated parmesan or pecorino Romano (optional)
Toss bread in mixture and line in single layer on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes then rotate pan and bake for 5 more minutes. Flip each piece for crostini or shake pan if making croutons, and bake another 5 minutes.
Italian Vinaigrette Recipe:
1 Tbl Cold Cut Sandwich and Pasta Seasoning
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
1 Tbl lemon juice
Optional:
1 Tbl dijon mustard
1 tea sugar
*If not using optional mustard and sugar, add 2 Tbl water to curb acidic bite
