Ardbeg Distillery - 'Scorch: Fiercely Charred Casks - Committee Release' Islay Scotch Single Malt (750ML)

Bottled to celebrate Ardbeg Day 2021 and Islay’s definitely-real-and-totally-not-made-up flavour breathing dragon, this mythical malt is only available to our noble Ardbeg Committee.

Our whisky wizards have been hard at work, chanting incantations and conjuring spirits, concocting one of the Distillery’s most fantastical whiskies yet. Matured in ex-Bourbon American oak casks, fiercely charred and packed with smoke, discover lair upon lair of flavor in Ardbeg Scorch.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Deep, sooty smoke with charcoal, roasted hazelnuts, herbs, lemon peel, vanilla, and hints of banana chocolate and peach, though thinner than expected.

Palate: Burnt wood and scorched sage with iodine and sea shells, balanced by caramel, cinnamon, aniseed, and nutty notes; fruity elements are absent.

Finish: Long, featuring cigarette ashes, tar, black peppercorns, and rubber.
