Options: 1 Unassembled Deep GT/GB Frames without Foundation

Each frame comes with 4 separate pieces, a top bar, a bottom bar, and 2 sidebars that fit together with glue, nails, or staples to form the frame. Each frame fits a sheet of the foundation for the bees to build their comb on top of. Each frame is designed to fit inside a deep box in just the right way so it can be easily removed and inspected by the beekeeper.

Deep frames are most commonly used inside the deep/ brood boxes where the queen will lay eggs and the space the bees will live in over winter. The large surface area of the frame gives the queen more space to lay eggs without having to move from one frame to another.

These frames are sold unassembled or assembled, but if bought unassembled, they can be put together using typical hand tools everyone has. A hammer, nails, and good-quality wood glue are all needed to assemble the frames securely.  Good construction is key, so the frames do not fall apart in the hive.

These frames are designed with a groove in the underside of the top bar and on the upper side of the bottom bar. These two grooves provide a place to snap for the foundation to be snapped into the frame.

Bulk orders of frames over 1000 are shipped via freight on a pallet.

Here are the other types of frames and foundations:

Medium foundation
Medium frames with foundation
