The SubHub acts as both a data collector and signal booster for your apiary. Every 10 minutes, it automatically wakes and gathers data from all nearby BroodMinder devices, storing it so you can sync your phone with the SubHub instead of connecting to each sensor individually.
With its turbo-transfer protocol, the SubHub can transfer a month of data from 50 devices in just 2 minutes, cutting the time you spend managing hive records.
It also works as a Bluetooth range extender, re-transmitting hive data up to 1,000 feet (330 meters) away. Pair it with an older smartphone running the Apiary app in Hub Mode to view real-time hive data at low cost — note that Hub Mode is a premium feature requiring a $54/year subscription.
One tradeoff to know: the BroodMinder-WiFi doesn't connect to the SubHub due to power limitations.
