This is used as the wire trivet between the coffee siphon and the burner when brewing coffee with Yama Glass Stovetop Siphon Coffee Makers. It is also used as a heat barrier when using some of our glass kettles on stovetops and overall is one of those items you just want to have in general because it can prevent damage to the bottoms of many kettles.
