Green Papaya

Papaya, scientifically known as Carica papaya is believed to have originated in the Tropics of the Americas and Southern Mexico. Our Papayas are locally sourced here in South Florida where we come across many varieties with different sizes, color and shape.

Green Papaya is a delicacy in many tropical countries and is very popular in Green Papaya Salads. Papaya contains antioxidants, including carotenoids which can neutralize free radicals. Papain enzyme in papaya may help to ease digestion and aid in constipation. Papaya seeds are known to have anti-parasitic properties.

Papaya Pro Tips

Papayas will arrive hard and unripe.  This fruit will not ripen as it is intended to be consumed green. We highly recommend using this fruit in  green papaya salad. Please do not consume the seeds of Green Papaya. Only Ripe Papaya seeds are edible.
