Nardello Sweet Pepper is an heirloom variety cherished for its long, slender fruit and rich, sweet flavor. The glossy red peppers grow to about 6-8 inches long, with thin walls that make them ideal for frying, grilling, roasting, or fresh eating. Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, Nardello Sweet Peppers mature in 75-80 days, delivering a generous harvest throughout the season. The compact, bushy plants are highly productive and well-suited for garden beds, raised beds, or containers. This variety is resistant to common pepper diseases, ensuring healthy growth and high yields. Nardello Sweet Peppers are a favorite among chefs and home gardeners for their versatility and exceptional taste. Their rich flavor pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, from pasta to stir-fries. Whether you’re growing them for culinary adventures or enjoying them fresh from the garden, Nardello Sweet Peppers are a reliable and rewarding choice. Add this heirloom treasure to your garden for a taste of old-world flavor and dependable performance.

Pepper - Nardello - Capsicum annuum

Tender Annual Heirloom. Delightful fresh or fried, this pepper is also a sweet non-bell pepper when ripe. An Italian heirloom preserved by the Nardello family. Red when ripe, these 6"-8" peppers have shiny, wrinkled skins.

Did You Know? Mr. Nardello's mother originally brought the seeds with her when she immigrated to the U.S. in 1887 with her husband Giuseppe.

Soil & Water: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil with ample calcium and phosphorus. Moderate water needs.

Planting & Growing: It is ok to have the top leaves touching slightly which will help shade the fruit and roots when the summer temperatures rise. Mulch the plants to keep soil cooler than the air temperature and reduce evaporation.

Harvesting & Storage: Can harvest green but fruits become sweeter as they ripen red.
