The eyelet punch (or rampin) is used to press metal eyelets—also known as grommets—into the pre-drilled holes in frame sidebars. These eyelets protect the wood from wire tension, ensuring sturdier, longer-lasting frames, especially when using 100% beeswax foundation that requires wire support.

To use, simply place an eyelet into the sidebar hole, position the punch over it, and press firmly to seat it in place. Once installed, the eyelets allow frame wires to be tightened without digging into or wearing down the wood.
