Tornado BD 20/11L Automatic Floor Scrubber

The Tornado BD 20/11L (model TS120-S45-U) is a 24V brush-assist walk-behind scrubber that cleans a 20-inch path and covers 17,969 sq. ft. per hour. An 11-gallon solution tank and 12-gallon recovery tank feed a deck that holds 48.5 lbs of brush pressure at 155 RPM, and one charge runs 3 to 4 hours. Under 70 dB, it scrubs stockrooms, clinics, and school corridors daily without drowning out the people working around it.

BD 20/11L Specifications

  • Brush pressure: 48.5 lbs at 155 RPM
  • Brush motor: 0.46 hp
  • Solution / recovery tanks: 11 gal / 12 gal
  • Squeegee width: 31 in
  • Vacuum motor: 0.6 hp, 50 in water lift
  • Power: 24V with on-board charger, Lead Acid or AGM batteries
  • Run time: 3-4 hours per charge
  • Sound level: under 70 dB
  • Weight: 157 lbs without battery

Who the BD 20/11L Is For

Brush assist suits operators working shorter runs, where pushing the machine never turns into the bottleneck. Retail stockrooms, medical offices, and small school hallways are natural fits, as are sites that would rather spend less up front than pay for a self-propelled traction drive. Stripped of its battery the chassis weighs 157 lbs, light enough for one person to wheel into corners and through doorways. Crews covering large floors across long shifts tire less on the LT traction model, but for compact zones this brush-assist unit cleans the same path for less.

How the Brush Deck, Tanks, and Battery Work

The deck spins a single brush at 155 RPM under 48.5 lbs of pressure, which lifts ground-in soil from VCT, sealed concrete, and tile in one pass. Solution drops from the 11-gallon tank ahead of the brush; behind it, the 31-inch squeegee and 0.6 hp vacuum pull the dirty water into the 12-gallon recovery tank and leave the floor dry enough to walk on.

Power comes from a 24V battery set, either Lead Acid or AGM, charged through the on-board charger. A full charge keeps it scrubbing 3 to 4 hours, enough for most single-shift routes to finish without a battery swap.
