Detailed Description
The Beetle Barn is a popular trap among beekeepers who manage small hive beetles using bait placed inside the hive. The trap features a clamshell design with small side openings that allow beetles to enter and access the bait compartment in the center.
Bees often chase beetles into hiding spaces within the hive. This trap provides a space where beetles can enter but bees cannot, due to the size of the openings. Once inside, beetles feed on the bait placed in the compartment.
This trap does not physically capture beetles. Instead, it provides a protected bait station inside the hive.
Only pesticides approved for use inside a beehive should be used as bait.
We do not recommend using Fipronil (roach bait), boric acid, or other unapproved chemicals in this trap.
