A 21-inch burnishing pad covers the same 10,000 square foot floor in approximately 11% fewer passes than a 19-inch pad. For hospitals with long wide corridors, convention centers, and airport terminals where burnishing schedules run during tight overnight or early-morning windows, the additional 2 inches of pad width meaningfully reduces the time required to complete the floor. The BGDC-21 at 86 lbs weighs 2 lbs more than the 84-lb BGDC-19, a negligible operational difference. For tight spaces — narrow aisles, areas with frequent turns — the 19-inch BGDC-19 maneuvers more easily. For wide-open institutional corridors and large floor areas, the 21-inch BGDC-21 is the more productive specification.

1,500 RPM Burnishing Pad Specification and What Ships in the Box

The BGDC-21 ships with the machine, 50-foot power cord, and documentation. The 21-inch pad driver is sold separately and required before first use. Standard pad specification for 1,500 RPM maintenance burnishing: tan or white burnishing pads for VCT and vinyl, natural hair pads for terrazzo and sealed marble. Red buffing pads suit spray buff applications where solution is applied before the pass. At 1,500 RPM, the BGDC-21 is a daily-cycle maintenance machine — appropriate for facilities on daily or every-other-day burnishing programs. Facilities burnishing less than twice weekly typically benefit from the higher gloss-per-pass output of the 2,000 RPM BGDC-21-2000.
