Bissell BGDC-21-2000 Floor Burnisher 21" – 1.5 HP DC, 2000 RPM, 50 ft Cord
Bissell BGDC-21-2000 21" High-Speed Commercial Floor Burnisher – 2000 RPM
The BGDC-21-2000 runs a 1.5 HP DC rectified motor at 2,000 RPM on a 21-inch pad — the highest RPM in the Bissell burnisher lineup, producing maximum gloss per pass on VCT, vinyl, terrazzo, and sealed concrete. The DC motor maintains consistent 2,000 RPM under pad load without the voltage sensitivity of universal motors. Non-conductive dual triggers with interlock switch, adjustable handle, and non-marring bumpers complete the professional specification at 89 pounds. Pad driver sold separately.

When 2,000 RPM Burnishing Is Specified
Higher pad speed generates more friction and heat during the burnishing pass, which melts and distributes floor finish more aggressively to produce a higher-gloss, more reflective surface. Facilities that burnish daily or every other day typically use 1,500 RPM (BGDC-19, BGDC-21) because the finish does not lose significant gloss between sessions. Facilities on less frequent schedules — weekly or bi-weekly burnishing — specify 2,000 RPM to restore maximum gloss from a more degraded starting condition in a single pass. The BGDC-21-2000 is also used in restoration scenarios: stripping and recoating a floor followed by high-RPM burnishing to maximize the gloss of fresh finish before the floor returns to traffic.
2,000 RPM Pad and Floor Considerations
At 2,000 RPM, pad selection requires careful matching to floor finish hardness. Standard white or tan burnishing pads (3M Scotch-Brite 3300 high-speed or equivalent) are the appropriate specification for VCT and vinyl at 2,000 RPM. Using abrasive or scrubbing pads at 2,000 RPM removes finish rather than redistributing it. Natural hair pads work for high-speed polishing of terrazzo and sealed marble where the surface is already prepared. The BGDC-21-2000 weighs 89 lbs — 3 lbs more than the 1,500 RPM BGDC-21 — a marginal difference in operational handling. The machine ships with the burnisher and 50-foot cord; the 21-inch pad driver must be purchased separately before first use.
