Detailed Description
The BroodMinder-W5 is the latest generation of BroodMinder's hive monitoring technology, replacing the earlier BroodMinder-W model. It has an all-steel, powder-coated housing and a single 200 kg load cell that's temperature compensated for accurate weight readings across changing conditions.
The scale measures up to 500 pounds of total hive weight and includes 200% overload capacity for added durability. Weight data is recorded once per hour by default and can be stored for more than a year, with logging intervals you can configure.
It's fully compatible with the Bees app and the MyBroodMinder platform, so you can view, track, and analyze hive weight trends over time. Power comes from replaceable AA batteries rated to last more than five years under normal operation.
If you want full hive coverage, you can pair two W5 units together to function as a complete hive scale. The slim, weatherproof design is suitable for permanent outdoor installation beneath hive equipment.
