What a vigorous Syrah. Produced from two parcels of rocky hillside in the small commune of Arras, this wine displays solid concentration and mineraled refinement. Clean, with a plummy, pink peppercorn streak across a taut structure, this wine has youthful and emphatic tannins. Best for lamb, braised poultry, and filling ragôuts. Étienne Becheras is a bold viticulteur, unafraid of risk-taking. He extends his élévage longer than most in St. Joseph, leading to a very serious wine.
