Detailed Description

Designed in Hungary and serviced in the U.S., the InstantVap 18V runs on your own 18V tool batteries (sold separately), so there's no cord or external compressor to haul between hives. Preheat, load the plunger with oxalic acid, and treat each colony in seconds. The stainless-steel build holds up to repeated use, and the built-in voltage meter gives real-time battery feedback.

Usage Instructions

Insert a fully charged 18V battery. Allow the unit to preheat to 445°F. Fill the plunger with 1–4 grams of oxalic acid and insert the stem through a ¼-inch drilled hole or the hive entrance. Tap the plunger to release the oxalic acid, which vaporizes immediately. Each hive takes approximately 25 seconds to treat. Monitor the voltage display throughout, and wear appropriate protective gear, including a vapor mask.

Dosing guide: As a starting point, most single deep or single medium hives run around 2g. Larger colonies on double deeps can go up to the full 4g. Adjust within that range based on colony size and mite pressure.

Battery Tips: Any 18V battery on a compatible platform works, from 2Ah on up — a smaller battery just means fewer treatments before recharging, and a larger one (5Ah or bigger) means more runtime between charges. For cold weather treatments, the optional silicone insulation roof can boost efficiency by up to 20%.

Oxalic acid powder vs. EZ Ox tablets: This plunger is built for OA powder, not tablets. Tablets don't perform as well in this unit and cost more per treatment — powder is the better option here on both counts. We carry EZ-OX oxalic acid powder for exactly this use.

This product includes one plunger but does not come with a battery. Add a second plunger if you'd like to keep moving without stopping to reload.
