Each frame comes with four separate pieces — a top bar, a bottom bar, and two sidebars — that fit together with glue, nails, or staples to form the frame. Each frame fits a sheet of foundation for your bees to build comb on, and is designed to fit inside a medium box so it can be easily removed and inspected.

Medium frames are most commonly used inside medium boxes, where bees store extra honey you can harvest. While traditionally used in supers, they're also becoming more popular for beekeepers who run medium boxes for the entire hive — our all-medium kits are one example.

These frames are designed with the bee space in mind — the exact gap bees prefer between two sheets of comb. When frames are placed in the box and touch each other, they're spaced the way bees want because of the frame design.

These frames are sold unassembled or assembled. If bought unassembled, you can put them together with typical hand tools — a hammer, nails, and good-quality wood glue. Good construction matters here, so the frames don't fall apart in the hive.

These frames have a groove in the underside of the top bar and the upper side of the bottom bar, giving you a place to snap in the foundation.

Bulk orders over 1,000 ship via freight on a pallet.
