The 19" apron is the most versatile size in the BOSS apron lineup for facilities with mixed-width floor zones. It fits through standard commercial doorways, passes between fixed equipment with standard 24" aisle width on each side, and covers nearly as much floor per pass as the 21" apron in open areas. Facilities that run a 21" apron in large rooms and need to continue cleaning through doorways into connecting hallways or restroom entries use the 19" apron to maintain machine efficiency without switching to a narrower tool. The 19" apron also suits hotel guest corridors, school hallways, and medical office hallways where the 21" apron may be one inch too wide for the corridor width or existing furniture arrangement. For zones narrower than 19" plus side clearance, the 17", 15", or 13" aprons handle the access.

Non-Marking Bumper and BOSS Machine Apron Swap Mechanism

The A-171-1's perimeter bumper contacts walls before the apron body does, and its non-marking material prevents color transfer or surface damage on painted walls, varnished baseboards, and tile wainscoting. The bumper is part of the apron assembly — it replaces with the apron rather than wearing separately, eliminating the need to inspect bumper condition as a separate maintenance item. The three-thumb-screw installation means the apron change takes place without tools: loosen three thumb screws, remove the current apron, place the 19" apron, tighten. The BOSS machine body does not need to be moved or turned off between apron swaps, and the pad driver from the previous apron may or may not transfer depending on size — verify compatibility with the 19" apron's pad driver requirement before swapping mid-task.
