Mercury DC-19-1170 Ultra D.C. High-Speed Burnisher – 19", 1170 RPM
Mercury DC-19-1170 Ultra D.C. Burnisher – 19" Floor Polisher at 1170 RPM
The DC-19-1170 runs the same 1.5 HP D/C rectified motor and 19" apron as the DC-19-2000 at a lower burnishing speed of 1170 RPM. The reduced RPM generates less friction heat per pass, which makes this machine the better choice for facilities that burnish daily or multiple times per week where preserving the finish coat over time matters more than achieving the brightest possible gloss on any given pass. The front caster assembly maintains even pad pressure, and the polished aluminum chassis (84 lbs.) provides the machine weight needed for consistent pad-to-floor contact.
DC-19-1170 Motor, Speed, and Chassis
- Motor: 1.5 HP D/C rectified, 15 Amp — same motor as the DC-19-2000
- Speed: 1170 RPM — lower heat burnishing; extends finish coat longevity under frequent use
- Apron size: 19" with full-wrap non-marking bumpers
- Pad pressure: front caster assembly with flexible pad holder and threaded centering device
- Chassis: polished aluminum, 84 lbs.
- Operating wheels: 6" non-marking; transport wheels: 4" non-marking
- Handle: adjustable 48" — safety interlock switch, non-conductive dual triggers
- Power cord: 50-ft. 14/3-gauge safety cord
Where the DC-19-1170 Gets Used
The DC-19-1170 is the daily burnishing choice for facilities with structured floor care programs — healthcare facilities, schools, office buildings, and retail floors where staff burnish on a daily or every-other-day schedule. At 1170 RPM, the machine is quieter than 2000 RPM models and produces less heat, making it usable during light building occupancy without the noise level or thermal concerns of higher-speed burnishing. The 19" footprint navigates standard doorways and corridors without clearance adjustments.
Pro Application Details for the DC-19-1170
The DC-19-1170 and DC-19-2000 share the same chassis and motor — the only functional difference is speed. Choose the DC-19-1170 when the floor care program calls for burnishing more than three times per week; choose the DC-19-2000 when maximum gloss output is the priority and burnishing frequency is lower. At 1170 RPM, use white or tan burnishing pads, or natural fiber pads — never scrubbing pads at any high-speed burnishing RPM. The front caster assembly handles pad pressure so the operator does not need to apply downward force on the handle; pressing down lifts the caster and creates uneven gloss streaks.
