Powr-Flite C1600-3 Classic Metal Burnisher – 1600 RPM, 20", All-Metal
Powr-Flite C1600-3 Classic Metal Burnisher: 1600 RPM All-Metal Construction
The C1600-3 is Powr-Flite's 1600 RPM Classic line burnisher — the all-metal-housing alternative to the Millennium Edition's polyethylene body. A 1.5 HP motor, 20" flexible pad driver, and 17 lbs of pad pressure produce 23,500 sq ft/hr in a 101 lb all-chrome machine assembled and tested in Texas. At 17 lbs of pad pressure, the C1600-3 presses the pad harder to the floor than the NM1600's 15 lbs, an advantage on floors with high-frequency foot traffic where finish is compressed and needs more mechanical contact to restore gloss.

All-Metal Housing vs. Polyethylene — Durability and Weight Tradeoffs
The C1600-3 Classic's all-metal, high-polish chrome housing resists the impact damage that polyethylene housing can sustain from dropping or striking hard surfaces repeatedly in high-traffic service environments. The chrome finish also resists chemical corrosion from floor stripper overspray and cleaning solution contact, which matters in environments where the burnisher is stored alongside stripping chemicals. The tradeoff is weight: at 101 lbs the C1600-3 is 12 lbs heavier than the NM1600 at 89 lbs. The 50 ft cord — shorter than the NM1600's 75 ft — means more frequent plug-change on large floors. For facilities that prioritize housing durability and corrosion resistance over cord reach, the C1600-3 is the right burnisher.
C1600-3 vs. NM1600 — Classic Metal vs. Millennium Edition at 1600 RPM
Both the C1600-3 and NM1600 run at 1600 RPM with 1.5 HP, belt-drive, 20" pad, and dual-lever safety switches. The C1600-3 Classic Metal adds 2 lbs more pad pressure (17 vs. 15 lbs), all-chrome metal housing for chemical and impact resistance, and a 101 lb frame that stays stable on uneven floors. The NM1600 Millennium Edition saves 12 lbs (89 vs. 101 lbs), includes a longer 75 ft cord, and carries an additional 10-year housing warranty on its HDPE body. The C1600-3 carries only the 1-year parts-and-labor warranty with no separate housing warranty.
