Q: Can I use a metal screw if I misplace or break the screw it comes with?
A: No. A metal screw will interfere with the ionization process. The screw must be non-metallic.Contact support if you have lost the screw.
Q: I don’t think it’s working.
A: Put the ionizer into a clear glass of water under sunlight. After a few seconds, you should see bubbles form. The bubbles will look almost like “mist” coming off of the coils.

Q: Why are there brown spots in my pool and how to remove them?
A: Do not allow the copper content of the water to go significantly above the target range upper limit of 0.5 ppm. High copper levels can tinge the water green and copper can begin to form on solid surfaces. Please take out the ionizer and use other pool cleaners to remove them. Detect the ion level and clean the basket more often to avoid these spots.
Q: Will a Solar Pool Ionizer corrode the metal parts of my pool pump and filter system?
A: No, it is unlikely. Copper, a natural antimicrobial chemical, is significantly less oxidizing than chlorine or bleach. In cases of high copper levels, copper may start to precipitate on solid surfaces; however, this can be prevented by regularly monitoring the copper content of the water. If copper levels become too high, temporarily removing the ionizer can resolve the issue.
