The Story

Located in the heart of the Italian Market, Isgro's has been serving the community since 1904 and is the oldest family-owned pastry shop in the area. Mario Isgro emigrated to Philly from Messina, Sicily, where he made a few extra lira doing odd jobs for an Italian barron. Being naturally drawn to the kitchen, he eventually learned all he could from the barron's exclusive pastry chef. 4 generations later, the recipes he learned and developed now form the foundation of this thriving South Philly pastry shop, helping to further the sweet legacy forged over a century ago.
