Family Traditions
Olive Oil

From our family's grove to your table. 100% California Arbequina extra virgin olive oil — grown, milled, and hand-bottled by one family since the very first harvest.

From Start to Finish,
It's All Family.

This oil comes from our family's farm in Yolo County, California, where it is grown and milled by our extended family. At Family Traditions, we handle the bottling and bring it to market — the same oil we use at home and supply to the top restaurants we work with. Smooth, clean, and made to be used every day.

Our Farming Practices

Grown with organic practices · transitioning to certified organic for the 2026 harvest

Soil Health First

Our olive groves are grown using farming practices designed to support long-term soil health and exceptional fruit quality. We fertilize with naturally derived inputs, including composted chicken manure and potassium, and we do not use synthetic herbicides or pesticides in our groves. We are currently completing the required transition period, with our groves expected to be certified organic for the 2026 harvest.

High-Density, Mechanically Harvested

Our olives are grown in a super high density orchard and mechanically harvested to ensure they are delivered to a nearby certified olive mill at peak freshness, where our family oversees every step of the milling process to help preserve the quality and integrity of the oil.

A Regenerative Approach

We also take a regenerative approach to nutrient management by returning the olive pomace — the skins, pulp, pits, and other natural solids remaining after milling — back to the orchard. This valuable material is incorporated into the soil to recycle nutrients, improve soil health, and support healthy trees for future harvests.

Single-Estate Traceability

All of our olives are grown, harvested, milled, and bottled as a single estate operation. Every step of the process takes place on the same estate, providing complete traceability from grove to bottle while ensuring the highest level of quality and consistency.
