Pot Size: Medium Coconut Coir Pot

The Indian Dwarf Banana, a delightfully vibrant member of the Musaceae family along with all other Banana species, is a very rare, pot-friendly short Musa variety growing only 5 ft. tall on average. Considered critically endangered in the wild, the Musa mannii is rare to find in the wild, even in its native Himalayan habitat.

Easy to grow and maintain, the cold-tolerant Indian Dwarf Banana prefers shade while young and thrives well in partial shade as it grows older. Unique in it’s growing habit, this majestic banana grows hermaphrodite basal flowers that produce seeds without pollination. The Indian Dwarf Banana has black-tinged pseudostems at around 4’ long. Once mature, the plant grows gorgeous pink-to-purple upright flower stalks. These stalks create bunches of tasty green-to-yellow 2-inch long fruits which grow in 3 hands, 1-3 fruits per row.
