Moringa, also known as the Tree of Life, is a flowering tree and medicinal herb native to the foothills of the Himalayas. 

Moringa is famously known as a nutrient-dense super plant.  It provides an amazing source of protein, fiber vitamin A, potassium, calcium and vitamin C. One serving of Moringa has seven times the amount of Vitamin C as an orange, three times the amount of potassium as bananas, twice the amount of protein as a cup of yogurt, and the list goes on.  The leaves, flowers, roots and young seedpods have a somewhat spicy flavor similar to horseradish.  Leaves and flowers can be eaten cooked or raw and are wonderful fresh-picked from the tree. 

Once established, it Moringa drought resistant and can be grown without irrigation.  Moringa trees can grow up to impressive sizes, however, they are incredibly easy and often maintained at smaller sizes or even grown as an annual herb plant in colder climates.
