SunButter is made from a single ingredient: organic dry-roasted sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds are one of the richest food sources of vitamin E — one serving of SunButter delivers roughly 37% of the Daily Value for alpha-tocopherol, the most bioavailable form of vitamin E and a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes from oxidative damage. Sunflower seeds also provide meaningful magnesium (for muscle and nerve function), selenium (for antioxidant enzyme systems), and chlorogenic acid (a polyphenol antioxidant). Phytosterols in sunflower seeds compete with cholesterol at intestinal absorption sites, which is why sunflower products have been studied for cardiovascular support. Because SunButter contains no peanuts or tree nuts and is manufactured in a dedicated nut-free facility, it's used in school lunch programs, hospitals, and households where nut allergies are a concern.
